Birthday cd for Melissa

Hopefully she doesn't go on my blog today because I am planning on giving it to her later. But here is a mix cd I made for my friend. Or I should say the case I scrapped together. Since I work for a scrapbooking company you get a lot of ideas to make your own stuff and I usually make my own cases and stuff when I make mix cd presents but now I have gotten into the whole altered art kind of thing. It's kind of nice to get away from the computer, be crafty and make something someone will really love because its handmade.
Sooo Happy Birthday Melissa!!(even tho it's kind of a month late)

A nice day for flying a kite...

Eh, two Sundays ago a bunch of us headed over to a park for a day of flying kites and a bbq. It really turned out to be a beautiful day since it was expected to rain and be a kind of damp and gloomy. At some point everyone grabbed their kites and headed on over to the large grassy lawn. I of course did not bring a kite however one of my friends brought extras just incase someone like me came along. I picked up the one laying down on the ground that everyone seemed to abandon and sadly to say there was reason for it. Not totally understanding how exactly one does fly a kite, I sort of throw it up in the air and start to walk briskly and then into a jog. However my kite never really gets too far off the ground. It was like walking a uncontrollable dog thats doesn't really want to come along for the walk. Sadly to say it really never did sore up into the sky like I wanted it to or like how everyone else's did but I didn't want to give up on it. It may have never gotten two feet off the ground but it tried and that's all thats counts...

A sketch from my trip...

So a few weeks ago, I went to Dublin and Prague with two of friends. It seriously feels like it was months ago. That's so unfortunate because it was a great experience and a fun time. I miss it all. Here's is something to commemorate at least part of the trip. If I get some free time I may actually try to do some realistic sketches of what I saw in Prague. We shall see....

Happy Mother's Day!

I finally have a new drawing! I worked on this for my grandma's Mother's Day present. I felt like I haven't made her a good drawing since I was younger so I decided to make her something all homemade which always good.
