Watercolor #19_Octopus -1

This was an illustration that was living in my head for weeks until recently. Now it's done! In fact now that it's done is when I realize it's missing a leg! What kind of an octopus are you! Maybe he lost it in the war? I mean really do you see all the legs at once!? Sometimes yes and sometimes no and in this case that leg is back there hiding out I swear!

So as of the last few weeks, I came to realize I can't do a weekly watercolor every week. I can say though that I have kept at it for year and that is pretty awesome! I can also say that I will continue to keep doing watercolors for sure just not weekly ones. However I would expect to see some kind of something from me every week whatever it may be such as a doodle, a painting, a lizling  or whatever the heck it is I am working on! Just trying to keep things interesting! Stay tuned. Cheers!

Where the Tomorrows Go

So I haven't been able to really talk about it much until now! It was that big illustration project that I have been working on for awhile....

Everyone knew that I drew pretty pictures and did crafty things and from my weekly posts on facebook/ blog. One day it finally went a little bit beyond someone just "liking" my art. A friend from high school had a friend that was looking for an illustrator for his second book. We were introduced and hit it off well. We talked about the project and what he was looking for and if I was up for the challenge. I always wanted to illustrate a book and this seemed like an opportunity to give it a try. It wasn't just any other children's book. It was special.

In the last couple of weeks it finally came together and now it's available. Manoj, the author of the book says it best and you can check out this link here and get to know more about the book: http://wherethetomorrowsgo.com/. To some it up in a few words it is a children's book about understanding and coping with loss. The story is about Bella and her pet dog Gogo. It's a very different subject matter, very real and honest yet uplifting ofcourse. Because let's face it life can be unpredictable and even more so when your a kid. I remember what it was like when I was a little and we had to put our dog to sleep. It was trying moment that your best friend wasn't going to be by your side anymore. During illustrating this book, as an adult once again had to put another dear furry friend to rest. It doesn't get easier with age but I definitely felt connected to Bella as she deals with her lost. I can go on but really check it out. You can buy the hard copy & e-book on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Where-Tomorrows-Go-Manoj-Abraham/dp/0988796570/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1434070430&sr=8-1&keywords=where+the+tomorrows+go And on the itunes store.

Craft Fair Funness!

It happened! We did our first craft fair! It was hard parting with some stuff but in the end I have no space to keep everything. It just seemed right that these special one of kind pieces would make their way into someone elses home to enjoy. So now there is teeny bit more space to make more! On that note I will be working to get a Facebook page up shortly so that I can centralize all of my major postings and announcements through there. I will be working to get an Etsy store up and running to some degree this year right in time for the holiday season if not sooner. In the meantime, here are some pictures I want to share from Sunday! Cheers!
