Valentine's Day

Here's a card I made for my grandma for Valentine's Day. I love making her stuff because she always is so happy and amazed. She just really seems to enjoy a good homemade card....at least I think so anyway.

Here's the latest project I have been working on, yet another illustration on wood! This illustration uses two pieces of wood. The girl was drawn out on a very thin piece of birch, about 1/8" thick and then very dangerously cut out with an X-acto knife and scissors depending on the angle. It was quite tedious and I was a little scared of the tip of blade breaking and hitting me in the eye! Why I needed to make her on wood and not paper I don't know but I do happen to think it looks better then it would on paper. I kind of like this approach and may try it out again until I get injured.

Mr. Fox

This one I have been working on for a few weeks. It's a bit tricky to have a really good idea and then you go to make it 3D and it doesn't quite sew up the way you want it to. That's why the first toy is always a prototype but it really looks like there is no need for improvement. I am really happy with this fox, it might be my most favorite Lizling to date! Now that I have the design for the fox done I have plans to do an all white lady fox next!

Ok two birthdays down this year and probably a whole bunch more to go! My goal is to make everyone a birthday card this year instead of buying them. I own far too much crafting stuff and it's time to make use of all this stuff!

Here is my first post for the new year! It's a birthday card for my friend Patty. I have to say this might be the first time I am actually using papers I designed! If you want to know what they are I'll tell you! The papers are from the Let's Eat line by TPC Studio. You can find more info on our TPC Studio facebook page. So I guess this is going to be my last post for 2011. Oh well I intended to get a lot more done this year but life kind of gets in the way. No worries though more to come in the new year and many years to follow! On that note, Happy New Year to all!

Oh I guess I should say something about this little guy huh...We'll he is made out of sculpey clay. Just wanted to try to make some of my little critters more "real". It was kind of fun little project but I think my box of clay has been kicking around for a few years and it was really hard to work with. However I did make it out to the store and got a fresh new box so I will be making more little critters!
